Martin Luther – by Aleyamma Jacob

Conrad, a German married Ursula. They lived happily but they were struck by a tragedy. Their youngest son died and was buried in the wet soil of the cemetery. The very next day, they heard a boy singing at their doorstep, “Foxes to their holes have gone, every bird to its nest, but I have wandered here alone and for me, there is no rest.” Even though he was a beggar boy, he had a sweet voice. The couplr welcomed him to their house. They all sat near the fireplace and the boy narrated his pathetic story to them. They adopted him and gave him the bed of their son who had died a few days back. They sent him to school and later he became a priest. This boy was the great MARTIN LUTHER.

Amy Carmichael – by Aleyamma Jacob

Amy Carmichael worked in India for fifty years. Her service was among the destitute widows and orphans. She was called the mother of Dohnavur. She had a terrible fall and was bedridden for twenty-two years. But during these years, she wrote many books which inspired thousands of people. She always enjoyed the presence of the Lord in her room. In 1957, Billy Graham visited her and he was told to pray. He started to pray but he could not continue it, overwhelmed by the sense of God’s presence. Amy had to complete the prayer. How many times do we question God? How many times do we grumble? Lord, forgive us.

CRY OUT TO GOD FOR OUR CHILDREN – Aleyamma Jacob

Dr. Torry was a famous evangelist. He led many to Christ. When he was young, he led a wretched life. His mother, a staunch Christian, cried day in and out for her son. Tired of his mother, Torry left home. She cried aloud and told her son “When you find life worthless, turn to my God.” Not long after that, he did the same thing. He fell on his knees and accepted Jesus. The Lord heard his cry.The Lord used him to bring many to Christ. Here also, we find a mother’s cry. Let us also cry out to God for our children.

PARENTS MUST PRAY FOR CHILDREN – Aleyamma Jacob

Charles Spurgeon’s mother prayed, “O that my son might live for Thee.” At the age of fifteen, he accepted Jesus. He preached his first sermon at the age of fifteen before a small congregation. He was known as the Prince of Preachers. Spurgeon’s mother’s prayer was answered. St. Augustine’s mother, Monica prayed for him for 17 years. At last, he was struck by the Word of God and was saved. John Newton’s mother prayed for 6 years for her pirate son. At last, the pirate became a flagbearer for Jesus. We parents must pray for our children unceasingly.
