ABIDE IN US – A. J. Kuruvilla

The beautiful blue sky,

The shining golden stars,

The lilies of the valley,

The flowing rivers and streams,

The bright and morning star,

The rising and setting sun,

The gentle breeze and the roaring thunder,

The eagles that flap their wings,

Swooping around the banana plantations

Like fighter planes.

They land onto the banana bunch,

To suck the sweet honey,

Their tasty dinner God has made.

The farmer watching the beautiful scene ,

From his easy chair in the verandah,

All these remind us of the

Wonderful work of our Creator.

Praise Him for His mighty acts.

How on earth can we forget the Creator?

Oh no! Never in our lifetime,

The sweet and gentle Saviour,

Praise Him for His mercy,

Saviour, always abide in us.

GOD’S SAFE HOUSE

Jesus is the cornerstone
Of the edifice He is building;
It must be laid in prayer
As His temple He is gilding.

He is also the keystone
To give His building strength;
In protecting from Satan’s wiles
He will go to any length!

Finally, He is the capstone
To hold it all together;
Thus, it is a safe haven
As His children storms do weather!

I am the WAY you are to walk;
I am the TALK you are to talk
I am the TRUTH you are to believe;
I am the LIFE you are to live;
You LOST your life to gain MINE.

You are crucified with Christ,
it is no longer you who lives,
but Christ who lives in you.
And you now live by faith
in the Son of God, who loved you
and gave Himself for you.

Flagging, floundering spirits
are revived in the labyrinthine landscape
of the sea of faith.

Faith has a face
transfused with wisdom,
tempered by suffering,
transmitting an air of the
most fragrant fortitude.

Faith has a fiery, far-away look,
an incredibly fast-moving brain,
and an extremely determined air
of dash and daring.

Faith has a flair for firmly believing
in the fruitful and ultimate fulfilment
of all God’s promises.

Faith is an inspiring breath of fresh air
in the dark, lonesome dungeons
of doubt and despair.

Faith struggles to persevere,
struggles to hope,
struggles to endure,
struggles to live.

Fiery faith
always involves
a struggle with
the Unknown.

ASSURANCE

May Jesus assure you that as you follow Him–

you will never meet a fear He cannot conquer;

you will never face an enemy He cannot defeat;

you will never enter a battle He cannot win;

you will never have a need He cannot meet;

you will never face a temptation He cannot overcome;

you will never have a burden He cannot lift;

you will never face a problem He cannot solve;

you will never have a bondage He cannot break;

you will never have a moment when He does not care;

you will never have a time when He is not there.
