“Sarah’s Smile” by Dawn Kinzer is a well-crafted, multi-layered story of heartbreak and second chances, that inspires our hearts on many levels. It is filled with heartwarming, captivating, late Victorian characters, full of realistic hurts, amusing foibles, and redeemable traits, revolving around mutual feelings of trust and forgiveness. In this warm, heartbreaking story, Dawn Kinzer teaches us to love and forgive. God’s love comes with the gift to forgive.

In 1902, Sarah McCall, a would-be missionary awaiting a call to the mission field, longs to leave bitter heartbreak behind, to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Peter Caswell, a widowed pastor, yearns for the way things were. They had been best friends—she had loved him and supported his dreams—but he married another and broke her heart. Although ten years had passed since he left, Peter hopes Sarah will give him a second chance. They had shared a past, but can they share a future together? Both Sarah and Peter are bitterly scarred by sorrow, pain, lost chances and unrequited love.

Abandoned as a child by her mother and gambler father, Sarah McCall strives to overcome a tarnished family history and a heartbreaking romance of unrequited love that she just cannot obliterate, try as she might. Peter Caswell returns to his hometown as a pastor, dedicated to his four-year-old daughter and new congregation, but he cannot forgive himself for his wife’s death. Will Sarah and Peter find their way to love and forgiveness, or will their past mistakes make the hope of a life together even impossible to contemplate?

Dawn Kinzer’s crystal-clear voice is fresh and distinctive in historical fiction. The spiritual content in this inspiring book is beautifully integrated, making the story meaningful to readers. The two main characters in this faith-based book have wide-spread appeal. The well-developed characters, intriguing storylines and surprise plot twists create a beautiful and captivating tale of forgiveness and enduring love that triumphs at all costs.

Dawn Kinzer is inspired by the Holy Spirit to write for Christ. God’s stamp of approval is upon her books. May “Sarah’s Smile” inspire the hearts of people worldwide, as Dawn’s heartfelt words match the awesome spirit of her heartwarming book.

MEET DAWN AS SHE INTRODUCES HERSELF

Writing is a passion, but music has always played an important role in my life since I was a wee little one. I sang with groups through high school and college, then served as a vocalist with a contemporary worship band for eighteen years. Blessed with two married daughters, one grown stepdaughter, and three gorgeous grandchildren, I live with my husband in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

My work has been published in the Christian Fiction Online Magazine, Backyard Friends, The One Year Life Verse Devotional (Tyndale), A Joyful Heart: Experiencing the Light of His Love (Guideposts), and featured on the radio ministry, The Heartbeat of the Home.

In 2010, I launched Faithfully Write Editing and soon moved from part time to full time freelance editing. I provide critiquing, copyediting, substantive editing, and proofreading services for both fiction and nonfiction writers.
