Hung for the sins of humanity,
on a cross of cruelty and shame,
wounded, bruised, chastised,
humiliated, beaten with stripes,
the deathly sweat of
His Gethsemane anguish,
mingling with the
deathly darkness of
His Calvary agony.
How great the Father’s love
for the lost mankind, in sin and woe.
He sent His Son to the cross to pay the price for sin.
On the cross He shed His last drop of blood, a perfect offering for sin
to redeem and restore us to be Children of God.
Eternal Life is in the Blood,
Everlasting Love of a Father,
Humble Obedience of the Son,
He went as a Lamb to the slaughter,
that you and I might live.
