ROSE AMONG THISTLES

Jean A Rees

When Karen inherited the Furze Golf Hotel, she received much more than just the prosperous hotel with its well-kept garden, nine-hole golf course and private bay with its sandy beach. She also inherited trouble!

The unnamed fear which she hoped she had conquered returned full strength to frighten and almost paralyze her with dread and despair.

For help, she turned to Ewan Lindsay, who answered her ad for a hotel manager. Karen needed someone strong and fearless—and Ewan was all of that and much more.

Ewan tackled the problems facing the hotel head-on—but he still had time to work with underprivileged boys and set up a camp for them in the woods near the hotel, where they could learn about outdoor living and build strong bodies and alert minds.

Karen was even more impressed with Ewan when she learned that there were groups of “Lindsay’s Lads” all over Scotland who looked to Ewan for leadership and guidance.

It was as she watched him at work with his boys, that Karen first began to appreciate Ewan’s God, to whom he was so dedicated. She soon realized that the secret of Ewan’s strength lay in his devotion to God and an unnamed hunger began to rise in her, that she might find the same assurance that Ewan knew.

This exciting and romantic story laid on the Scotch heather and seaside will intrigue the reader from its opening page.
